For sale is my Mk2 RAV4 D4D which is becoming increasingly difficult to find in good condition, which is why I bought this one last year as a camping/ adventure/ fun vehicle. This one is in good, clean condition and being an XT2 is more of a utility vehicle with steel wheels, basic trim, and no sunroof, so is perfect for practical use like a van. She has covered 6000+ reliable miles in the past year including several camping trips to Snowdonia in Welsh weather and has been comfortable, dependable, and delightfully retro. with that old-skool Toyota build quality.
In the past year she has had regular oil changes and maintenance inc. the expensive cambelt & water pump change for full peace of mind. The brakes have also been overhauled with a new NSF calliper and rear discs and pads. Earlier this year she was fitted with excellent Yokohama dual-purpose tyres. The oil in the transfer box and rear diff has also been changed.
Passed her MOT in July 2024 with only two minor advisories: Slight free play in steering rack mounting (new bushes) and offside front shock absorber slight misting. A new set of Bilstein B4 OEM shocks can be included which cost £300+
Upgrades include Toyota front fog lights as these were missing on the XT2 version and some LED spots which need to be wired in (a wiring kit is included). She is fitted with Hako side window deflectors and a modern radio head (the original retro. cassette unit will come with the car).
Also available are some camper-car accessories including a pull-out side awning that mounts to the roof bars, and a rear Thule cycle rack that mounts on the tow bar plus number plate board.
Being a 20-year-old car there are some stone chips, marks, and minor dents on the body, but nothing noticeable or serious. Equally the robust interior is in good condition but some marks on the plastic trim including the dashboard top which is a bit scratched, but it suits the style!
Will be sorry to see her go but regretfully for sale as I have a new Italian project car that’s proving more fragile than a RAV4 and needs my attention.
