Description
Honda XL500 - Hagon road race chassis
The complete chassis tank and rear suspension were built by Alf & Martin Hagon (Hagon shocks) and supplied to Robin Riley, at that time the owner of Motorcycle HQ West Drayton.
Robin prepared his own engines and the unit in the bike still has the original cam, “welded” crank, in perfect condition and both are stamped M/ C HQ. I believe this is one of two machines that Robin rode when he won the Kennings Championship in the 80s.
The machine is easy to maintain, as Hagon still have the jig, and the engine is a Honda, and parts are plentiful.
Come to view the bike @ the Prescott Hill Climb June 22nd, Kempton July 19th, and Donnington CRMC August 9/ 10th. Robin Riley won the Kennings Championship in the 80s lapping Brands Hatch short circuit in under 1 min.
I still ride the machine at track days, I'm invited to Donnington CRMC meeting, and I can race or parade in Belgium.
