Beautiful 1980 Mini 1275GT – Matching Numbers | 2013 Heritage Panel Rotisserie Restored | Black on Black
A real Unicorn in terms of 1275GTs, this is a rare opportunity to own one of the last true classics.
This stunning 1980 Mini 1275GT comes with the original 12H engine (rebuilt in 2013) matching numbers, including the registration number etched glass all round (except drivers side rear window) and benefits from a full rotisserie restoration using Heritage panels in 2013. As anyone who knows these cars will know, to find one that is matching numbers nowadays is very…very rare indeed.
Finished in the highly desirable Black on Black colour combination with gold decals, it is undoubtedly the best colour combination.
This GT stands out with its aggressive yet timeless styling. Every nut and bolt was addressed in 2013 with meticulous attention to detail throughout the restoration process.
Whilst the interior is not the original deck chair style fabric, it was replaced during the restoration with black perforated leatherette which looks fantastic and really compliments the car.
The steering wheel is also not original to the car. When I bought it it had a tiny little leather bound steering wheel, which I didn’t like, so, as I also didn’t like the two spoke steering wheel which would have been original to the car, I found a new old stock three spoke 1275GT steering wheel which is currently on the car. I do have an original two spoke steering wheel to go with the car, although this will need refurbishing, and the tiny one that came with the car when I bought it.
We bought the car in December 2016, and have loved owning it, it gets soooo much attention everywhere it goes! But we just don’t use it enough, so have decided to let it go to its new home.
Although Tax & MOT exempt, we have put a brand new MOT on it for peace of mind…it sailed through, except for a couple of bulbs required, and slight play in a wheel bearing mentioned as an advisory, which will be sorted for the new buyer.
A heritage certificate will be provided on sale.
