Description

1972 TRIUMPH T150V TRIDENT CRUISER/ CHOPPER, MOT, VGC
£4750 ono

This genuine 1972 cruiser/ chopper is a real survivor. It is a garage/ shed find, carefully stored away for about 40 years.
I believe that it was professionally built in the 1970's, probably from new, either by a dealer to cash in on the popular chopper style at the time or by a private buyer who had deep pockets.
There is a great deal of chrome on it, even items such as the centre stand, oil cooler and carbs + carb gantry have had the treatment. There are plenty of custom items such as the paint and exhaust system together with a lots of detailing - too much to list here. Have a good look at the photos and compare the details to those of an original T150V.
So it was built for show, but also to be a practical, easy to ride machine. The frame hasn't been modified. The fork stanchions have been extended to give the "chopper" appearance but these can easily be swapped for standard ones should you wish.

As can be seen from the photographs, the bike is in very good condition. There are a few marks on the paintwork but nothing serious. The chrome is excellent apart from some pitting on the primary chaincase and the chainguard.

It starts easily, revs easily as a T150 should and sounds good with no smoke or rattles.
It has had a new, thicker clutch plate to give a light lever action. Also the carbs have been cleaned and reset. It has had new cables, an oil + filter change and new front + rear brake shoes. I have ridden it on a few short trips to test it for the MOT and everything works as it should. It is MOT'd until March 2026.
I had a side stand "extension" made to make it easier for me to kick it over but this can be unbolted if you don't want to use it.
I have replaced the seat as the original one was torn, replaced a missing sidepanel and the missing throw-over panniers.

It has an age related Reg. number, it is registered as an Historic Vehicle and the V5 is in my name.
