Description
1969 fiat 130 berlina. Serie A.
Lhd.. Very rare, early strip speedo dash model.
Originally a 2. 8/ auto spec, this car has been upgraded to the later 3. 2/ zf manual option (I have retained the original 2. 8 engine and auto box).
This conversion transforms the characteristics of the car, greatly improving performance as well as economy.
The body work and chassis are in original condition and have never been welded (the car has been dry stored since being imported from Italy in 2014). I would describe the body work as in good condition with all chrome work present and also in good condition ( the quarter light latches that often go missing are present).
Since I took ownership of the car in 2019, the following mechanical work has been carried out.
. New faucet fuel pump fitted
. New distributor cap and ht leads
. Starter motor overhaul
. New clutch and clutch cable
. Carb overhaul
. Pistons and rods balanced
. New piston rings
. New Headgaskets and skim
. New gaskets throughout engine.
. Flywheel skimmed
. New main and big end bearings
. New valve stem seals
. Valves decoated and re seated
. Valve clearances adjusted
. New cambelt and aux belts
. New air filter
The interior has been retrimmed in leather, to a very high standard and remaining faithful to the original stitch patterns. The early, austere looking dash is in great condition and has the rare, integrated radio option included. The original carpets are still present and well protected under a set of custom floor mats.
I also have a fair amount of spares for this car that we could make a deal on.
I have covered several thousand Kms over the course of my six year ownership and the car has never let me down. It is fantastic to drive, full of character and has a real presence.
