1992 defender 90 soft top, ex military. MOT till end of February 2026
140000km on the clock so just over 88000 miles ( this will rise as still in partial use ) which is low for this year of vehicle.
Low owners with only three owners including myself from new and I also have brief posting details of it military career.
It is a 2. 5 diesel na so no turbo, it's no sports car but it's not meant to be and it's more than capable on or off road and can happily cruise along at 60 on motorways.
Has a 5 speed manual box and has no issues getting into any gears and was told by previous owner it had a closer ratio box installed by military to help with motorway journeys and getting up to speed.
Bulk head and chassis in good solid condition, it has had repairs in the past but these were done to a good standard. In my owner ship I have had the following issues addressed, so new alternator, new belt new batterey with 3 year warranty, and new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder so all tip top and ready for its next adventure.
As you can see from the pictures I have also gently recommissioned it with a nod to its military past this included the following.
So new exmoor canvas top in 2024 also fresh olive drab paint, new grill, new headlight dressings and brighter bulbs and wolf wheels and discovery tyres all round and padded the rear tub out with sound proofing .
Only selling due to pure lack of time to spend enjoying it. Nice basic but straight defender , fairly priced I believe at £11000 ono also open to sensible offers or px or WHY but please no time wasters. Bought this two years ago as a quick project as the frame and running gear was in good order however the paint let it down, after giving a gentle recommission i started to use as a weekend cruiser, always starts on the button not bad on the diesel either and a very versatile vehicle , you never worry about getring stuck anywhere . . . I have had this going through fields but never seriously off roaded nor does it go out in the rain intentionally. It does have a certain rugged charm and dependability about it and almost a care free motoring as its so basic. Lovely useable classic, ready for on or off road and with detachable roof also ready for the sunshine.
