Description
We are selling this rare 101 series Land Rover which started life as an ambulance on a NATO base in Germany.
It was acquired by the seller in 2017 and he decided to strip it of its ambulance equipement and proceeded with building a brand new camper rear section, perserving the aft section of the ambulance (the one that goes over the cabin).
A very important thing to note is that the seller proceeded with registering it as a camper, drivable with a regular passenger car license. Something that cost him several thousand €s...
Everything was professionally done with aluminium, insulation is by way of cork panels. Skylights and hatches are from Dometic. NDS solar panels up on the roof provide power to an NDS lithium battery.
The engine was uprated to a 3. 9 unit that was fully rebuilt.
All the work carried out and all spares bought can be verified with the invoices.
The gearbox is a 4 speed LT95, the transfer case was modified to be taller than the standard 101 General Service.
A custom power steering box was adapted so it's nice and light on the arms, the wheels were converted to tubeless.
A custom stainless exhaust was made as well, the engine sounds pretty amazing, hear it here:
The Land Rover is visible in Prato, Tuscany on appointment. The looks, the sound, the interior amenities, the numerous upgrades, the fact that it can be driven with a regular license.
