Ford Cortana 1980 Mark 5 – 1. 3 L, two door coupe.
For sale; The ultra rare two door, Mark 5 in good solid condition.
The car has done 83, 552 miles.
Since purchasing the coupe from The Car Cave in Lothian, significant expenditure has been committed to improving the vehicle. Work done includes a full spray, welding as required by MOT, (done this month), radiator replacement, new battery, new alternator, and points. The car has just had a full service and drives superbly.
If looking for nostalgic, stylish fun, this car ticks the box. If it is speed you're looking for, the original 1. 3 L engine will not provide any thrills, but it is good on the petrol.
There are only 20 or so of these two door Cortinas registered in the UK and given their scarcity, they present themselves as an excellent long term investment.
Whilst this car is an excellent basis for making something special (significant funds have been expanded and approving the car brackets new chrome gutter trim, number plates, rubber seals and more) that are still one or two matters acquiring attention, including some damage to the seat covers (as per photograph). In addition, I should mention that whilst the car looks great, the quality of the paint work recently completed is not of an excellent standard. If the car is to be “minted”, some attention to the quality of the existing paint job will be required.
I'm currently using the Cortina as my daily Transport. There is no road tax and classic car insurance is cheap.
This is a fun, solid and well maintained vehicle with which has the potential to become a show winner. Much recent invoicing for expenditure on the car.
