For Sale: My Lotus Elise S1
After much thought and soul searching, I’ve decided it’s time to part ways with my beloved Lotus Elise S1. This car has been a true passion project for me, and it’s been an absolute joy to drive. Unfortunately the usual family commitments and loss of garage space has pushed me over the tipping point. It’s a car that has always brought a smile to my face over the last ~10 years, whether on a weekend drive through the countryside or carving through twisty back roads. Now, I’m ready to pass it on to someone else who will appreciate it as much as I have.
About the Car:
• Year: 1997
• Engine: 1. 8L Rover K-Series engine
• Power: Standard 118 bhp, with aftermarket exhaust (original still available and will come wit the car)
• Mileage: 44, 300 – Had a full C service and check over Dec 2024 at HPE.
This car is very original, and any parts upgraded, window winders etc, will come with original parts to revert if desired.
This car has S2 Bilstein suspension fitted but, I have the original Koni’s that will come with the car.
Has the MMC brakes retained and aluminum boot lid and plastic load cover. If you want a ‘pure’ S1, this is the one to have,
It has never had any paint and this has some stone chips on the front, and a small amount of osmosis on the front wing. None of this detracts form the car but I would rather be honest upfront.
The roof is original and has the usual plastic leading edge split at the front. Please see the images.
The interior is original and in good condition. The wheel has the usual wear on the centre, the driver seat bolster is getting thin but is not ripped and the driver sill pad has the usual wear, see images.
The car has always been garaged in my 10 year ownership and has flown through the last MOT with only notification of the age of the tyres. They are in great condition due to always being garaged. If you come to view, you will see for yourself.
Why Am I Selling? It’s simple – I’m looking to make room as I have downsized in garage space and cannot bring myself to park it outside. But trust me if I could, this car has been an absolute keeper. I’m genuinely going to miss this one and regret selling, but I know it’s time for someone else to enjoy the thrill of driving it.
