MGTC 1949: Having only done 6918 miles since the car received a full restoration in 1985 and dry stored since, the car is in excellent condition.
When I bought the MG in 2015 I did some minor recommissioning work and upgrades to include amongst others:
New Blockley tyres.
Powder coated wire wheels.
Spin-on oil filter conversion including new flexible oil pipe set.
Stainless steel exhaust system.
New brake master cylinder and cylinder repair kits.
Replaceable thermostat housing upgrade and hose set. The car is supplied with:
Full weather gear to include soft top and side screens, tonneau cover and it also has aero screens.
Original and reproduced instruction manual.
Original buff log book.
Extensive documentation, history, past MOTs and receipts. First registered in December 1949 it must be one of the very last TC's to come out of the factory. Being supplied by the University Motor Group it has the desirable UMG registration number.
The TC attended numerous events and rallies between 1986 and 1989 and picked up many best in show awards all documented in a small hand book by a previous owner.
I used to run a restoration, service and tuning business and looked after and serviced the MG between 1989 and 2001, so when it came available for sale in 2015 I jumped at the chance, knowing the car as I did.
The previous owner bought the car from an exhibitor at G-MEX classic car show shortly after being restored in 1989.
