Description
1971 1. 3s Lancia Coupe.
I have owned this car since July 2019 during which time it has been 100% reliable, including a long weekend road trip to Brugge.
It is not a garage queen, it is a solid reliable and usable classic that has been looked after and had money spent on it to keep it running well. It is serviced and mot'd regularly, the current MOT runs out in June 2026.
Main points of note, all major work carried out by Day and Whites (As seen on Harrys Garage You Tube channel) paper work included.
The entire front floor pan was stripped with both left and right front sections replaced with some sill repairs also completed, rear pan was in great shape.
Brake master cylinder replaced and brake overhaul completed.
New theromostat.
New front wheel bearing retainer fitted.
New heater valve.
New fuel pump.
New sump pan.
Various hoses replaced.
5 new tires
New spark leads.
Bilt Hamber Cavity wax applied.
The paintwork is not perfect, it has had paintwork completed at some point in its life and while it looks great from even 5 ft there are micro blisters on some panels.
Being a 1970s Lancia, even one imported from southern Italy
there are VERY MINOR areas of rust, the worst being on the front edge of the bonnet as pictured. There are also 2 small bubbles on the front wings behind the wheels as shown. These were checked when the floor work was completed and were considered cosmetic. There is also a small 1cm bubble at the bottom of the rear screen.
Mechanically the car runs really well, pulling in all gears and as mentioned before has proved to be 100% reliable.
The only negatives are noisy 2nd and 3rd gears when above 2, 500 revs, I bought it like this and since it has never affected my ability to use it I never got it addressed.
Interior, the seats would benefit from re-upholstering, the dash also has a crack.
The original dash facia (Which does come with the car) was replaced as it was cracked where the working bluetooth stereo was mounted.
I also have a new rear mat that comes with the car. I bought this car to use regularly and enjoy, not get paranoid about where to park and to use year round (Not in icy conditions with salt on the road) hence it is not a garage queen.
I have tried to describe it as honestly as I can... it is a 50yr old car so please ask questions/ request more info to ensure you are comfortable with what to expect. I also have some video footage available.
If you want a car you can enjoy as is, or improve upon at your leisure this would fit the bill. It has always put a smile on my face when driving, always gets constant attention, plenty of questions and thumbs up....... people love it.
I'll be sad to see it go, but its time for someone else to enjoy it.
Any questions feel free to ask
