UK. ( Northamptonshire )

Please text before calling, I don't answer unknown/ withheld numbers due to EON pestering me weekly about a smart meter.

I know of someone local that may be able to assist with covered transport.
Photos were taken in 2023, car now has all wire wheels fitted.

1963 MK10 3. 8 Manual o/ d with E/ windows. This- car was my dads and has been stored for the last 16 years.

It was loved by him for over 24 years until he passed away.
He bought the car in 1986, and restored it to a beautiful car, winning some concours shows in the early to mid 1990’s. ( The logbook has been in my Mum’s name since 2010.)

He then got a bit fed up with the concours scene, having to clean the car spotless after driving it to an event, and just wanted to have the car his way, to enjoy it.

Probably from 2000 onwards he carried out modifications including fitting XJS 4 pot front brakes with EBC drilled & grooved discs, using late DS420 uprights. Wire wheels, Louvres pressed into the bonnet, A/ C fitted, ( the A/ C was a bit of a mish mash of parts to be honest ), fitted the 1-2-3 ignition system, an X300 head unit and cd changer, added an extra radiator and header tank to aid cooling, the radiator was mounted where the battery was, battery relocated to the boot. Car was converted to -ve earth. The wooden dash top was modified to mount his sat nav on.

All wood was professionally restored @ a cost of over £2k (18 - 20 years ago), the wood is still perfect today, the leather was professionally reupholstered, and is still in fine condition today.

The car has been in storage and hasn't been out for about since 2023, but the last few times I've started it, all it needed was the contacts on the fuel pump cleaning, fresh fuel, and it fired right up.

I changed the engine oil and filter 2 years ago.

it has been changed to negative earth.

The body is not perfect, but not a rotbox, the doors are excellent ( doors were replaced with new doors in the 1990’s i believe..

It will need some welding underneath.

there are also some areas of corrosion and paint lift on the roof and bonnet.

Car looks great from a few paces back.

The interior is beautiful having a full wood resto a couple of years before he passed away.

Car was fitted with remote central locking, but the fob has been lost, but the motors will still be there.

There is a wire on the temp sensor on the thermostat housing, the wire needs removing or fitting when the car is cold, and vice versa when it’s warmed up ( can’t remember which way ) I guess this the cold start.

The clutch plate is stuck to the flywheel, so it can't be driven, and will need some recomissioning to get it back on the road, brake and clutch hoses, maybe coolant hoses, maybe fuel lines, suspension bushes etc. Runs lovely, I did drain the coolant years ago, so I haven't run it for long.

There is an inspection pit that is quite difficult to access with the car over it, but if you are slim and agile, you may be able to have a look underneath.

There is a rectangle hole cut in the bottom of the bellhousing, the clutch would stick every year after standing through the winter, and this was a way of unsticking the clutch without removing the gearbox.

one of the column stalks is broken, can't remember which one.

Not really any history file with the car, a few MOT's from my Dads ownership, he was a Jaguar mechanic, and ran his own Jaguar workshop.

-XJS front brake using late DS420 uprights

-converted to negative earth.

-extra cooling radiator in the battery location, battery relocated to the boot.

-extra header tank over the back of the engine.

-A/ C fitted, a mix of parts.

-It had remote central locking fitted, fob has been lost.

-No toolkit

-5 x wire wheels.

-head unit and cd changer from X300, unsure of code.

-towbar through rear bumper

-no real history, just some old MOT’s from my Dads ownership.

-i think exhaust is stainless.

Rear calipers look recent ( recent before went off the road )

Wood restored professionally at cost of over £2k,

Leather excellent.

Rust spots on chrome seem to pick off and polish out.

One tyre, unused, but still over 16 year old. Pirelli tyres, but will need replacing.

Overall a very good starting point for a small diy mechanic project. A bit of welding, some work on the corrosion spots on the roof and bonnet, and some paint, new rubber pipes and hoses, brakes checking, etc etc. interior needs minimal work, one doorcard sags a bit I think.
Clutch will need replacing most likely, he used to unseize it every year after winter.
No toolkit.
Happy to answer any questions.
Serious viewings only please, as it is abut an hour of work to get the car out of it’s current location. But happy to do that for serious potential buyers.

Whilst the price is not set in stone, we won’t be entertaining offers that are £1, 000’s below the asking price.
