Hi there for sale I have my absolutely stunning Austin Mini City 998 for sale. This is no ordinary 998 and will honestly blow past a lot of lightly modified 1275’s. The engine has been modified and started life as a 998, has since been boarded +60 with a 1275 head oversized valves, lighten and balanced bottom end, twin HS2 carbs, central oil pickup and a full electronic ignition kit. The whole lot has been set up on the rolling road and I’ve been told churned out 80hp at the wheels. The previous owner owned this car for 10 years but had to sell to fund a house renovation. he’s fully restored this car with receipts for everything including a full gearbox rebuild, all receipts for panels, suspension, the engine build and much more (all documented in the google drive folder down below). There is no rot at all due to the car being stored in a garage and basically not moving for the past few years.
I purchased this car to take to Cornwall in early may for the riviera run and it drove there and back absolutely flawlessly. I’ve unfortunately since moved out the country to go travelling for a year so it has to go.
There is no rot anywhere and in the google drive folder there is a comprehensive section of photographs of the entire floor pan, door bins and much much more demonstrating this, I’ve also waxoiled the whole floor pan inside as we all know minis aren’t the most watertight things going.
Inside the car is mint all of the seats have been retrimmed in white, the door cards are still standard and I couldn’t make my mind up weather I wanted an open dashboard or the one its got (hence no top dash rail) I have a 3 clock binical to go with the car should you want to go open dash.
After years in storage it few through its MOT a few months ago with no advisories, tyres are like brand new and of course the whole thing is rust free the only bad bits to note on the car would be the previous owner put e10 in the car a few years back and the fuel lines in the boot went bad as a result fuel spilled into the boot while in storage and lifted the paint, so that will need painting over just to protect it, but theres no rust there as you can clearly see from the photos, its had new fuel lines and a new tank since. The other thing is where it has a quick release bonnet the paint has chipped away by the scuttle at the corners besides this though the rest of the car is mint. Oil pressure gauge in the middle works fine however the coolant temp gauge in the middle is not wired in, the factory temp gauge works fine though.
