Description

XK 120SE Drop Head Coupe Barn Find.

This is an all numbers matching car, a very straight and very solid, and a very unmolested 120 XK Jaguar…..

After many years of storage I am selling my wonderful project XK 120 Drop Head Coupe.

The XK has sat in a dehumidified barn here in Guernsey since coming over from a dry state some years ago, and to say its a very solid and super straight car is an understatement, you'll notice the boot skin being an exception, but to find an XK this solid and straight in its original paint is most definitely the way to buy a project car. I spent many years working as a coach builder on XK's and even back in the 90's I didn't see cars this solid come in for bodywork. It's a true Sun Survivor. yes it has paint peeling and surface rust in places, but its all there, and very worthy of a restoration, or just a recommission... and keep as a cheap fun car.

The mechanicals of the vehicle all seem to be there, even the exhaust looks in reasonable order for its age some holes on the rear section of the tail pipe. It does not have a fuel tank, and most of the interior trim has been lost to time, but in all essence a fantastic project car.

I purchased it from a friend local to me who imported it from America, he said he had it running once it was back here in Guernsey, which I will try to achieve again at some point. As you can see in the photos one half side of the windscreen is missing along with a couple of its screen chromes and the rear number plate plinth and wooden boot floor panels are also missing too. In the scope of these 50's Jags, the bodywork is a key area that can cost a pretty penny to correct and is rarely as good as the original. The speedo and centre dash and centre drawer are there, the speedo is reading in the 28k's miles.

Come see the car, it's a truly amazing project a car I had bought with a view to building into an Oily Rag car as a bit of a daily hack, but sadly my days of tinkering on and under my classic cars has come to a painful end with arthritis appearing in my hands. Don't be put off by it being in Guernsey, it is Guernsey registered so is a simple task to get registered on to UK plates, shipping is easy from here too, or the buyer can simply come and collect it on a trailer, the port is in eyes view of my home and the car is in easy access. I have a ramp too should the buyer wish to inspect the underside..

Priced fairly with a view to sell.

Don't hesitate to call me, I prefer to chat to buyers than message, air flights are very easy to Guernsey too if you want too come see it (Gatwick, London City, Southampton, Exeter, Birmingham), or you can travel cheap as a foot passenger only a boat ride away from Poole and Plymouth with Condor or Brittany Ferries. I can pick you up from the airport or the port, neither of which are far from home..
