Description
1934 Austin 10/ 4 Saloon. A very tidy car which has been been well maintained over the years - there are lots of spending records included, showing brake and suspension repairs, carb overhaul, re-upholstered leather front seats, engine rebuild (2002), etc.
Has matching numbers and a significant history file.
As far I can determine it has never been restored - just repaired and maintained as needed. The Blue and black paintwork is generally smart - mostly original I think, and although sowing a few blemishes is looking pretty good for 90 years old.
I used the car at my son's wedding in 2021 but haven't been able to use her much since due to assorted surgical interventions. She needs to be on the road! The Austin Ten was a simple but very well made car as many owners will testify. Many have now been restored to a condition well in excess of that when new and have lost a lot of character in the process. Nellie (of course she has a name!) retains the feel and smell of a car that has seen 90 years of life. Much is original and unmolested, although it is evident that, throughout her life, repairs and maintenance have been carried out when required.
