Description
As you can see from the photos it needs some bodywork but is sound in many respects with a solid chassis, good sills, floors etc.
It's had another bonnet fitted hence the different colour but also comes with the original bonnet.
This is one of the very last Spitfires and has a number of extras the earlier 1500s never had - dual circuit brakes, wider wheels are two examples.
The engine is running with no smoke and no unusual noises, and the car ran up and down our driveway last summer and felt very good, then over the winter the clutch stuck and still is stuck, almost certainly the slave or master cylinder, not the plate so an easy fix.
The interior is good and the hood is excellent and the car comes with a number of spares such as the rear light units and a few other parts in a box in the boot.
A great project I wish I had the time. Bought as a project to restore but I already have another much earlier Spitfire and just don't have the time for this one
