Description
Hi, thanks for looking.
With a heavy heart I am looking to sell my pride and joy - the car I always promised myself when I was 18 years of age.
The car was registered in the Preston area 28th November 1985. The first owner only had the car until 19th November 1986 when it was sold to a family over in Bolton.
Father ran the car until April 2003 and then passed the car onto his son.
I purchased the car November 2016 and it has been in my owner ship ever since. I purchased the car with genuine 71, 577 miles and after 9 years she is now sat on 72, 761.
The father and son took great care of the car, with father waxoil the whole car underneath, engine bay and boot area.
The car had been off the road for 3 years when I purchased it and I got her re commissioned straight away and passed an MOT 1st December 2016.
After only using the car for 6 months I made the decision to remove the engine and gearbox and to have a full refurb on the body.
The specialist garage promised 6 months turn around - which actually ended up being 6 years and twice the original quote. On the refurb I went to town, new rear wheel arches, new sills, new front wings, complete new rear section where the lights and number plate fits. Took down to bare metal and new paint. I entrusted an old boy Colin with 50 years experience and he did a great job even though it took 5 years and a lot more than originally quoted.
The car has been MOT twice since the refurbishment of the body in October 23 and September 24… this year it will be 40 years of age and exempt .
I can’t go into detail on what I have spent in the car as my wife would kill me needless to say it has been a couple of quid
