Description
For sale is my 1950 Ford Custom which I have owned for seven years. I am the second UK owner. The car was sold to me as having been a California car. The checking I have done with the cars number show that it came of Ford’s Long Beach (California) assembly plant in 1950. The car is so solid that I believe it has spent all its past last in California.
The car came to me with a 12 volt system and electronic ignition. During my ownership it has had a new starter motor, new starter solenoid, new battery, new electric fuel pump, and new brake light switch. I also had the water pump professionally rebuilt.
It has a straight six engine with three speed column gear change. I’ve fitted new plugs every year and it has had a recent oil and filter change. All the gauges work (speedo-temperature gauge- oil pressure gauge- amp metre). All the lights work (indicators, side, head and dipped, brake, and reversing). The horn and wipers work. The only items not working are the original radio and clock. There is however an after market radio/ cd player fitted. The chrome work is in very good order as is the interior of the car. The carpet is in good condition as are the door panels and headliner. It has a bench front seat and both this and the back seat are in good condition.
What made me by the car is that it’s such a nice “stock” vehicle. It hasn’t been messed around with and it appears that in the past it’s been looked after and had money spent on it. I’ve always look after it and it has been kept undercover all the time in my ownership. I treated the underneath of the car which is very good condition.
I’m not getting to use this lovely car as much as I use to and this is the reason I have decided to sell it. No part exchanges or swaps and no time wasters please. I am happy to answer sensible questions.
