Description
Stunningly beautiful Chevrolet Impala Convertible from 1960! This is the top-of-the-line Impala version with the 348 big block V8 in Roman Red. This car has only had 2 owners. In 1994 purchased by a Dutchman from the first owner from the state of Virginia. The Impala was completely original at the time. In 2003, a complete restoration of the bodywork and floorboards was carried out. After disassembly, affected parts were replaced and new parts were neatly welded in. Invoices and photos are available. The Chevrolet was then rebuilt with as many original parts as possible. Of course, rubbers and 'weather striping' were renewed. After restoration, the car was given an anti-rust treatment (Dinitrol corrosion prevention). The interior is largely original and in beautiful condition. The carpet and the mat set have been renewed, as well as the convertible top. Technically, the Impala is also in top condition. The 348 cu. i. V8 delivers 250 hp via the automatic gearbox. A stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted. Brakes and suspension parts have all been checked and parts have been replaced where necessary. Major maintenance has recently been carried out and new correct tyres have been fitted. This Impala has the following options: the 250 hp 'Turbo-Thrust' 348 big block V8 with 4 bbl carburettor and dual exhaust system, Powerglide automatic transmission, power steering, bumper guards, right wing mirror, fender skirts, original deluxe push-button radio, dual antennas, chrome sill mouldings and white wall tyres. Furthermore, a Continental Kit is available separately (painted in colour and including all mounting materials). For the purists; GM only started to hammer parts of the fin onto the stamping pad of the lower block in May 1960. This Chevrolet was produced before this time, namely in the first week of August 1959. Based on the 'casting numbers' and the 'casting dates' in the drivetrain, we can say that this Impala is completely 'matching numbers' in that sense. The Impalas from the 1959-1960 series have been very popular among collectors in recent years. This is a chance to own a great 'Romen Red' Impala 348 Convertible! Ready for lots of fun with a new owner. Dutch registration.
