Description

This is an ideal example of a Mercedes 190e 2. 0 in overall 'good' condition for its age.

It'll save you and I faff if I list the good, the quirky and the ugly up-front here. See below for details.

Happy to receive offers.

THE GOOD:

> The car runs excellently.

> The car has a good - although not complete - service history in a binder. The car arrived to the UK from Japan in 2017. I purchased the car from MyCar in Loughborough in 2023.

> In December 2023, I had new rear hub bushes installed as the car was squeaking like an old bed when embarking or disembarking. The old original rubber had deteriorated. The new bushes fully resolved the squeaking. In May 2025, a full new set of tyres was installed. Car fully serviced in 2023 and 2024, including a transmission service in 2023.

> Two keys.

> Original medical kit and emergency park sign.

> Blaupunkt bluetooth audio system.

THE QUIRKY:

> Japanese lettering on the fuel cap.

> The paperwork refers to the 190e as 'Bronze'. However, the car has always looked dark grey to me(!)

> When the fresh set of tyres went on in May 2025, I had the front wheel alignment adjusted to be straighter. Previously the wheels were angled a bit, which gave a slightly tighter turning circle at the expense of extra tyre wear. To be honest, in hindsight I prefer the original setup rather than the current one. A new owner might want the alignment changed back if the current turning circle isn't tight enough.

THE NOT-SO-GOOD:

> Some rust is present on the car (for instance, on the exhaust), although this is likely less compared to other 190s of this age due to it having been in Japan. A previous owner appears to have undersealed it.

> The rear windows are very janky when opening/ closing. One previously did not open at all - I got it replaced with a Chinese replacement mechanism, which worked smoothly for several months and then became janky. Both passenger and driver front windows open and close smoothly.

> There are minor aesthetic scratches throughout the car - probably on every panel if one hunts for them. Some were before my ownership. Others have been added by seagulls and neighbour's cats climbing on it (argh!).

> There are aesthetic scuffs to the bumper. The photos capture these.

> I had new brake pads installed in October 2023, but a new owner will likely need to replace the brake discs when they next replace the pads as there is corrosion present on the discs.

> The airconditioning currently does not work.
