Selling my MX5 MK1 Eunos Roadster, this is a rare S-Special Edition which is in exceptionally clean and original condition. The black paintwork is very good condition for its age, genuine low mileage of only 56k (or 91km). This car has been well looked after and everything is in perfect working order. Being a special edition it comes with lots of extras as standard from factory. No rust or corrosion issues anywhere. This is highly desirable MK1 extremely hard to find in such clean and original condition. Long MOT till February 2026 with no advisories.
The S-Special model is a sportier version that came with uprated Bilstein suspension, lightened flywheel, a Torsen limited slip differential, stainless steel kick plates, stylish 14-inch BBS wheels and a yellow engine strut brace. It also has the rare original S-Special floor mats made especially for this model.
This car has no rust or corrosion anywhere, all the sills and arches are absolutely solid, the rear sills have been replaced historically and are in excellent condition. The MOT history is very clean with no indications of any rust issues. A brand new original cat-back exhaust has just been fitted (cost £250) as recommended by local garage.
Car has been well looked after including a new clutch, full engine service, cambelt and water-pump all recently changed. There are a few age related blemishes on the bodywork, to be expected for a car of this age, however it still presents very well as can be seen in the pictures.
The soft top roof was replaced about 1-year ago and is in like new condition, this is the better quality mohair roof with a heated glass window. Spare wheel, jack etc. are all present in the boot as well as the leather tonneau cover for when the roof is down. An Apline stereo system is fitted in the centre console. The car comes with two sets of keys and two immobiliser security fobs. V5 logbook in-hand and in my personal name and shows just 4 former keepers.
Overall, this is a really desirable example of a rare MK1 model hard to find in such clean and original condition. The gearbox feels smooth and the engine drives like a new car. The steering is responsive and precise, which is a notable feature of these cars. With all the servicing and care this car has enjoyed, there are no noises from the brakes, suspension or any other issues to highlight. All genuine enquiries welcome.
