AJS Big Port 1926.
This bike was rebuilt approximately fifteen years ago (engine, oil pump, wheels, forks etc). No kick start, Amal carb - original Brown & Barlow available. Runs and rides well, but certainly not concours. Fitted with a slightly bigger drive sprocket to reduce revs when cruising, comfortable at 40 - 45 mph. Gearbox is not close ratio, which means a big jump from 2nd to 3rd. This bike represents a piece of motorcycling history. Not only good looking, but it handles superbly. It has been twice to Ireland and once to the South of France (taken by trailer) as well as countless rides all over England. I would guess it has covered around 5000 miles over 15 years.
