For Sale: Classic MR2 — Family-Owned & Reviewed by Jayemm
With some regret, I’m selling my beloved, unmolested MR2 that’s been part of our family for 7 years. This particular car was even featured and reviewed by the renowned car reviewer Jayemm (James Martin) — check it out here: Jayemm Review.
This MR2 has covered just over 121, 000 miles and remains a fantastic, fun-to-drive car. Although I love it dearly, most of my driving these days is stop-and-go traffic to and from work, so I’ve decided it’s time to let someone else enjoy it as a second car.
Good Points:
New roof fitted 4 years ago, keeping the interior dry and cozy
Clean, tidy bodywork
Recently replaced power steering unit for smooth handling
Leather seats look nearly new, aside from a small tear on the bottom of the driver’s side
Condition Notes:
Wheels need refurbishment (photos included)
Some lacquer peeling and minor scratches, consistent with age (photos included)
Headlights occasionally need polishing to maintain brightness
Locks on luggage compartments are a bit stiff
Requires both main and spare keys to access and drive
White spots visible on the bonnet
Recent Maintenance:
New suspension spring on the driver’s front side (known weak spot)
New alternator belt
New coil
Service History:
Generally well maintained, except for a mileage gap from 2014 to 2020 where 16, 000 miles were covered without recorded servicing
This MR2 is ideal for someone who appreciates a classic with character, who doesn’t mind some cosmetic TLC but values solid mechanical upkeep and a car that’s been cherished.
