Description

Spares or repair:
Reluctantly for sale my 1994MY Daimler 4. 0 due to its untimely demise, its a NON RUNNER due to no fuel getting to the engine (runs on easy start). It wouldn’t start after I filled it with petrol. The petrol pump is running but the AA man said it’s either weak or filling it with petrol dislodged some crud in the tank and blocked the filter. I tried changing the filter but suffer from vertigo so can’t turn my head upside down so couldn’t do it. This happened in May, since then the MOT has expired.

Before this it was in daily use. I’ve spent around £1300 on it in the last 7 months on a brand new alternator, water pump, wheel bearings, tyres, ignition system, replacing missing trim and getting the air-con fixed (ice cold now).

It’s been in constant use all its life (never missed an MOT) consequently it’s done 214k miles but on the upside it doesn’t smoke on start-up like those that have sat around and all the electric’s work except the drivers seat and there’s no ⚡️light on the dash. I have a video of it running/ driving taken before it broke down which I can send.

Like most old Jags it’s got a few crusty bits, both front front wings behind the bumper, N/ S/ R arch and around the petrol cap but they’re small patches so you don’t really notice them.

Has to be one of, if not the best colour combination. The interior is magnolia leather, a £600 extra over the standard colours, the red seat piping was another £300. The dashboard & door trim is coffee coloured rather than black and the carpets red rather than beige as in the earlier cars. It also has the rare optional heated front screen.

It’s a bit of rarity being one of the last ‘40’s, it has a few X300 bits like side repeaters and a 1pc rear blind ( usually 2 small blinds) and an electrochromic rear view mirror. The 16” Aero alloys were only standard on the 1994MY Daimler.

Located in Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 area, 10mins from Gatwick AirportIt’s one of the last ‘40’s so has some X300 stuff. It’s in the best colour, the interior is amazing with magnolia leather piped red with red carpets. My connection with this car is its the same spec as the car I sat in as kid on the Jaguar stand at the 1994 London motor show. Shame I can’t fix it because when it’s running it drives like new despite it high mileage.
