Description
1972 Triumph TR6 2. 5 Twin SU Carburettors & Overdrive with just 4 owners from new and a huge history file spanning back to 1983.
One from my own collection for sale. An extremely reliable car having just completed a 1000mile journey down to France and back with absolutely no issues whatsoever. Didn't miss a beat.
This is a beautiful Old English White TR6 with a red leather interior which together make for a striking and head turning contrast. The condition of this car is excellent having benefitted from a full shell off restoration back in 2010 using a heritage shell to rebuild. 4 speed gearbox with overdrive on 3rd&4th gear so motorway cruising @ 70mph is no problem at all. Stainless sports exhaust makes for a wonderful note along with the gorgeous twin SU carbs! The vehicle still presents well very and what you see is what you get, no nasty surprises 6 months after a fresh 'full restoration'. The paintwork has a lovely shine to it from all over and gets lots of attention wherever it goes. The interior is superb with the previous owner spending a lot of time and money getting it just right.
Mechanically this TR6 is excellent having recently visited the very well respected TRGB (April 2025) and receiving a clean bill of health along with a major service . In my ownership I have replaced the radiator with an original (but professionally record) one along with a brand new water pump, zero cooling issues. I have also had the ignition replaced with a Lumenition as well. The previous owner to me was a retired engineer who spent a lot of time going right the way trough the car, most noticeably rebuilding the entire back braking system along with brand new rear hubs too. So many invoices / receipts with this car its impossible to detail everything but its all here for inspection.
This is a well known car in the right circles and its been a pleasure to own, a real fun car to drive that is on point and loves to be driven. I would have no hesitation is doing a long road trip in this car tomorrow. MOTd until October (Obviously MOT exempt) but I am more than happy to place a fresh MOT on for the new owner. Delivery is no problem either.
