Description
I purchased this great little car in 2020 as a bit of a project during lockdown. The car had been in a barn for 7 years prior to my purchase so was looking rather sorry for herself but she was roadworthy and her bodywork was all original. I replaced one wheel arch due to rust but that was all and there was no rust anywhere else including the chassis which is in great condition.
I decided to opt for a full professional respray as I was told that to match the colour would be impossible given her age (30 years of paint fade).
The mechancial work carried out was as follows:
New cam belt
New water pump
New radiator
New Heater matrix
Replacement headlining
New Brakes
New Shock absorbers
4 x new wheels to mimic the orginals which had been replaced with standard steel wheels. I have opted for a BBS style replica - they look great but a less cost!
4 x new Toyo tyres 195/ 50R15 CF1
The interior has been deep cleaned. One bolster on the drivers seat was professionally reupholstered due to wear and all is now looking wonderful.
There is a factory fitted sunroof.
There is a wealth of original paperwork with the car dating from registration. I have bills for the parts and work I had carried out from 2020 onwards.
Please be aware that the rev counter and mileometer have now stopped working. Hence last two MOTs having the same mileage. I haven't used the car much since purchase, hence the sale now. It has been to a couple of shows, to the garage for MOT etc and that's about it. A new owner should be able to address these things - I have priced the car to reflect this work needing to be done.
8 owners from new. As I have said this was a project for me during lockdown. I loved bringing this little car back to life after having been put in storage for several years. There was probably more work and expense than I had realised but that's classic cars for you!
She drives really well and gives a comfortable ride. I often forget that I am in an old car. She gets quite a bit of attention when I am out and about and its great to share stories with other enthusiasts at shows.
