For sale is my very original 1968 Jaguar 340. Produced as the end of the line Mk2s but streamlined to either the 240 / 340 this car was registered new in 1968 and delivered to a company director as his company car. The original owner purchased it on retirement and owned it for the next 31 years! Since then it has had 2 other owners plus me and has an enormous provenance file of work carried out over the years.
It benefits from a functioning overdrive, automatic choke and is all-original with plenty of patina! In my ownership I had the following work completed in January 2025 with associated invoices:
Replacement steering column bushes
Replacement cam covers and breather gaskets
Replace front suspension sandwich plates
Replace diff panard bushes (poly bush upgrade)
Replace leaf spring bushes
Welding leaf spring mount
Welding rear exhaust mount and replace manifold studs
Replacement RHF lower ball joint
Replacement RHF wheel bearing
Replacement RHR wheel bearing
Replacement RHR ARB and droplink bushes
Replacement brake/ clutch fluid/ bleed brakes
New brake servo Brake servo failed on above
Set up carbs and replace fuel filter
In short it now drives very well and everything works! Cosmetically it is perfectly presentable, there is no rot and the engine pulls well and cleanly.
In summary, a useable classic that is priced very competitively and with the advantage of significant recent investment in the mechanicals and running gear.
