To give a bit of background to the car. I bought it two years ago as a retirement toy for myself to use on high days and holidays, and this is how it has been used. The mileage on the car when I bought it was 71600, and it is currently just under 76000, so only 4400 miles in two years in my care. This includes a three week touring holiday in northern Spain last September. We visited Bilbao, drove through the incredible Picos de Europa, and all the way to Santiago de Compostela and back. That trip alone accounted for 2500 miles. This is the reason I am selling. It just does not get used enough as my second car.
The car has had only two previous owners, one for four years and one for five years, both private individuals. In my ownership it has been serviced at Audi Stirling, had four new tyres fitted and also fitted a couple of the switches in the centre console that the metal plating started to peel giving a sharp edge. I also fitted a new (expensive!) AGM battery last year. It has never been smoked in and the lighter has never been used.
The paintwork and panels are all original as the car has never been in a crash. There is a small blemish on the rear bumper under the drivers side rear light that I didn't notice until months after I bought it. It can be seen in the last pic.
The wheels are in great condition with no damage whatsoever, as are the tyres.
Mechanically, the car drives more or less as it did the day it left the factory, with no rattles, squeaks or rumbles from anywhere. It has never let me down and other than the items mentioned has not needed any work done. The gearbox has been serviced twice as can be seen in the history paperwork. It is the S-Tronic 7 speed dual clutch gearbox with paddle shifters if you're inclined (I'm not) to use them. This is a far better, more efficient, reliable gearbox than the troublesome Multi-Tronic gearbox fitted to lesser models.
The convertible roof works perfectly and has no holes or tears in the material. There are some fold marks (try finding an A5 cabrio without them!) that look worse in the pics than they do in reality. The roof has recently been thoroughly cleaned by hand and redone with the highly rated Fabsil Gold. See the video for the hydrophobic effect.
It comes with two original keys, the plastic valet key, full service history, and windbreaker. The car is HPI clear. I travelled to Guilford to buy this car as the examples up here in Scotland had suffered from too many salty road winters. Similar prices were being asked, so it seemed the correct way to go. Having spent most of its life in a far more gentle climate, the upper body and the underside of the car are both in remarkably good condition, with no rust anywhere, even on any of the underside components. I have only used the car on nice days and always garaged the it during my ownership and this condition remains the same.
So there you have it. My car is not the cheapest out there but given the history, condition, specification and low owners I feel it is a bit special and therefore worth the price. It is a lot of car for the money.
I feel like I have written a book here, but want to give as comprehensive a description as possible to any prospective buyer. I guarantee no-one will be disappointed viewing my car.
Please excuse the dirtiness of the wheels. I took the car out of the garage for the first time in six or seven weeks and gave it a quick (lazy lol) hose down and not a proper wash as it was dusty from sitting in there.
