Used by him on the 1938 Monte Carlo Rally to come second in class after starting in Athens and driving half way across Europe in the middle of winter!

The heart of this car features a meticulously rebuilt 4500cc 6-cylinder Meadows engine, Rebuilt with a steel counter weighted crankshaft and steel connecting rods, Forged Pistons, up-rated cam etc to give masses of endless power on demand.
Designed by Lagonda with the assistance from WO Bentley, the chassis comprises bolted-together steel sections. The engine is connected to a four-speed gearbox, and the Girling system rod-operated brakes feature large and effective drums. Suspension is provided by half-elliptic springs controlled by friction and hydraulic lever dampers.
