1979 FL2 version of the FX4 Taxi
Always privately owned so very low mileage. Had been stored for several years when I purchased in 2019 so needed a fair bit of recommissioning which included:
A complete overhaul of the brakes with: replacement servo unit; vacuum pump & belts; master cylinder; wheel cylinders, shoes & springs all round; some pipes replaced
The clutch master and slave cylinders were also replaced; wiring to the headlights and indicators needed attention; new battery and recon wiper motor fitted;old style seat belts replaced with automatic inertia reels. Also fitted an auxiliary electric radiator fan with thermostatic control as a precaution and peace of mind! A radio was also fitted.
Apr 2022: gearbox rebuilt with new clutch.
Dec 2024: Injection pump refurbished. New lift pump.
Jan 2025: Set of 4 new 6ply Taxi tyres fitted
Most of the improvements are supported by invoices and a history file in my ownership. Very sound and solid vehicle, ready to use. If anything paintwork could be tidied.
Reluctantly selling due to loss of storage as I have other classic cars.
