Although this work was carried out in 2010 at 86652 miles, according to the paper work documenting the work done, the vehicle has only covered approx 3, 500 miles since then so the engine and running gear would be ideal for a donor project given the cost of doing all that work now.
Interior is fair, dash wood is clean, a couple of door cappings have blistered lacquer
Leather seats could do with a feed
Headlining is good
Door gaps are good and doors shut well
Side lights are in the wing tops and I think look good, makes it stand out from other S-types, people suddenly realise there is something different.
For some reason the Rev counter and Speedo have just stopped working. (I will try and get time to look at these)
Brakes work ok but I am not sure if the front calipers are correct
Body work shows signs of filler and paint work is crazed in places,
I think you would describe it as a 20 yard (or 18. 2 meters) car paintwise
Underneath the car requires tidying, a couple of jacking points need attention and the sills are crusty in places but the main chassis rails are good and the floors are good.
the chrome work is tired.
Drives ok and certainly gets up and goes. I bought this Jaguar 9 years ago as I have always wanted one unfortunately I have driven it only 4 or 5 times since acquiring it (the longest being the 80 miles along the M3 when I collected it) but each time has been a pleasure.
It has been dry stored whilst in my ownership and the previous owner also garaged it.
I am down sizing my small collection as storage facility will be lost soon. I will also be listing my Suffix A ex Police Range Rover and very rare civilian 80inch Land Rover Minerva.
It may not be the tidiest of examples but that is what attracted me to it, it has that well lived in patina look that I like, even down to the faded Queens award and RAC badges in the windows.
I think this would make a good project for someone that doesn't have to spend the huge amounts needed for mechanical rebuilds and can busy themselves with tidying the bodywork.
I suggest collection by trailer or truck as the brakes on the back seem to be binding slightly, possibly handbrake from being in storage for so long.
This Jaguar is being sold as seen as a project or for spares/ repair. No warranty or guarantee is given or implied.
Can be test driven if proof of insurance cover is shown on the day
V5c in my name
