I'm advertising this beautiful 1973 Alfa GTV on behalf of my neighbor Rowland, who bought this car from an Alfa specialist,
C P Garage services in Dundee a couple of years ago. He wanted to relive his youth when he drove one around Italy. Unfortunately he is now too infirm to enjoy it, so it is ready for a new owner.
When he bought it just two years ago, Rowland was looking for a car that was mechanically and bodily sound, and this car certainly fitted the bill.
The car has had 5 previous owners, one owning it for 30 years. It has been very well maintained, and with a current mileage of 64, 500, an average of only 1, 231 miles per year, it has clearly spent most of its life in the garage.
The car was originally Dutch blue , but one previous owner really wanted a red Alfa, so he had a total glass out respray. Although this was of a very high standard, he chose a Ford colour which did not suit the car at all! Rowland bought the car for the integrity of its bodywork and mechanics, but immediately commissioned another total respray in the correct Alfa 501 red, which looks absolutely stunning. This respray was done by Alex at Auto Bodycraft in Stokesley. Renowned for their concourse restorations, it would be worthwhile looking at their website to get an idea of the quality of their work. After the respray, the sills were injected with waxoyl.
