Description

I appreciate the market is quiet so last opportunity for my van before I take her off the road for the winter and start work on the body paint and fitting my flare kit , visor and spoiler then shes staying with me regardless of wifes earache .
1974 Ford Econoline 2nd Generation , ( last of the prized 69-74 version shorty wheelbase ) , every desirable option possible , 302 V8, Power Steering , Disc brakes , Automatic transmission , Barn doors . Aluminium chateau grille .
A real California boogie van imported by myself from San Francisco almost 2 years ago and used regularly , Porthole windows, Pop out rear windows , Patriot sidepipes , Swivel drivers seat , 10 inch slot mags to rear on brand new Cooper Cobra 295s to rear and 8 inch slots on 235 Cooper Cobras to front give a great stance . The interior is typical 70s retro with wood panelling and a removable table and separate stowed panel which easily converts her to a 6ft double bed , The table itself is studded in quarter dollar coins featuring every USA state whilst the useful separate locker as well as providing additional storage holds the spare wheel and leisure battery and is a handy seat .
Several interior lights are fitted and the interior finish is further complimented by the wall mounted short surfboard , a dozen or so vintage American number plates as well as groovy purple shag pile to the floor.
The cab has a brown vinyl padded doghouse cover and wooden genuine ‘ Stabbin Wagon ‘ embossed drinks holder / tray plus a pair of extremely rare vintage Ford van graphic rubber mats and original brown vinyl seats . Additionally I purchased a set of brand new fibreglass flared arches , matching front spoiler and external visor from the USA ( these are optional to the sale and as yet not fitted ) , a pair of new front wheel spacers would be included to complete the look .
The current old USA paint job is horrible but presentable enough for me , the intention of course is the cool custom paint job she is crying out for , although she is solid and original underneath some body needs attention as you would expect after 51 years .
The passenger side front wing has damage and corrosion but I have a solid all metal second hand one included ( new are unavailable ) , The hood has past repairs to the internal bracing and isn’t great but again I have included an original correct ‘ brake booster’ type hood needing minimal work , the front bumper is bent on the passenger side but again a replacement is included , the roof channels always susceptible on 2nd Gens has had past work and is solid and watertight , all of the doors including the rear and side barn doors are original and solid as are wheel arches , sills etc , the front door lower out skins have had some work in the past but frames and bottoms , doors steps are solid and original , a small patch would be need to the drivers floor due to old damp corrosion and the internal upper door frame aperture on the drivers side under the roof sill need a straightforward section of metal replacing , the other side is good as are all the other door openings .
She starts and drives extremely well I can leave her a couple of weeks and she always fires up easily on the auto choke and settles down to idle well just a minor exhaust joint blow on one side spoils the fun , I drive her regularly and I have attended many shows and meets around the northwest comfortably camping over on several occasion , always gets huge attention wherever she goes particularly with those big wheels and funky 70s orange and purple interior .
Seems a bit long winded my description but I didn’t want to waste anybodys time and I don’t want my time wasting either please so I have tried to be as thorough as I can .
I have dozens of pictures interior and exterior and lots at shows for serious enquirys .
I want £15000 for her including the fibreglass bodykit and spares which I believe is a very fair price given what she is and her potential , If you don’t want the bodystyling kit I would accept £13500 as I have a few people otherwise wanting to buy the kit … your choice .
She is registered Historic so tax and MOT exempt and classic insurance costs me let than £300 fully comp .
I would consider a deal or Px for another American car or truck and I might even include my vintage 1992 Lambretta LI 125 scooter value £3000 for the right deal .
Based Merseyside , collection is down to you .
