1973 BMW E3 2500 CONVERTED 3. 5L 5 SPEED MANUAL LEFT HAND DRIVE * RARE *

BMW E3 2500 originally supplied to Sweden and therefore please note this vehicle is Left Hand Drive!
Imported to the UK and subsequently registered with DVLA in May 2018.
Swedish registration document and supporting DVLA letter contained within file.
Shortly after purchase, the previous owner commissioned BMW specialist Hughes Brothers Ltd in Derby to install the more powerful M30B34 (E28) 535 engine and 5 speed manual gearbox from the later E34. The car runs Motronic 1. 3 and the engine wiring was all done by Hughes Brothers. ( ALL PAPERWORK TO PROVE OVER 5k SPENT )
Prior to installation the B34 engine was stripped and rebuilt with new gaskets, seals, chain guides, all valves lapped in and stem seals replaced. No expense was spared and sensibly many ancillary items were also replaced at same time including all coolant hoses etc.
More recently the underside of the car has also been subject to a major refresh including both subframes being removed, blasted and powder coated. Hughes Bros replaced every nut, bolt washer and perishable items as well as installing new fuel and brake lines.
This has resulted in a very reliable and usable classic, so much so the previous owner used the vehicle as his daily driver!
Originally supplied in Fjord blue, it was later resprayed a dark red in Sweden, then re sprayed again in 2020 in a greyish blue.
The blue leather interior is fabulous and in good condition for age but showing signs off wear with great ’patina’. It could easily be refurbished to look like new if preferred but personally I love the aged effect.
The matching blue door cards and light coloured headlining are also in good condition.
Mileage shows around 38, 000 miles
The bodywork sadly has seen better days with some rust affecting several panels. It will be a choice for the next custodian to decide whether they choose to do a long or short term repair or simply leave it as is and just enjoy driving it!
Previous owner Travelled down to the Le Mans Classic. It performed superbly and got there and back in comfort with no issues and made it a particularly memorable weekend.
Car will be supplied with 2 keys, original handbooks, workshop manuals, history file including copy of Swedish registration document, original Swedish number plate and a large quantity of Invoices including those relating to engine refresh / exchange etc

A large quantity of E3 parts & spares were purchased with the vehicle. They include a full set of door glass, door cards and trim, spare carpet, spare dash, spare instrument cluster, rear number plate panel, spare headlights, spare indicator lenses, windscreen rubbers and some mechanical and electrical parts.
