Description
Very presentable 525e owned for 16 years but put into long term dry storage in 2009 following head gasket, cam-belt and water pump replacement. Substantial restoration was commenced in 2019 and over the Covid period the undersides were repaired where necessary including removal of back axle, all suspension being rebuilt with many new parts to include all bushes, full set front and rear springs and dampers, drop links, steering and control arms, brake lines and flex hoses plus fuel lines, pump and filter. Brakes were rebuilt with new discs and pads. New radiator fitted. Front and rear bumpers replaced incorporating new sections where available and some rechromed sections. Rear offside door replaced and new front wings fitted prior to respray. She was not recommissioned until 2025 and original instrument cluster (reading 156k miles) was exchanged for one reading 55k. Central locking, electric front windows and mirrors, obc, AM/ FM radio cassette all working as does manual sunroof. There is the usual but slight cracking of dashtop and wear to upholstery. She drives really well and is a very good basis for further cosmetic improvement and detailing. She would certainly benefit from attention to upholstery as this is rather tired. Originally bought as an addition to my collection of 10 E28s, hence the long interval in storage.
