Description

This 1969 Austin Mini Cooper S MkII is a handsome example of the beloved British icon.
The engine has been built by Bill Richards Racing to a 1293cc ‘fast road’ engine specification, coupled with a four-speed manual transmission.
First registered in the UK in August 1969, this Mini Cooper S spent some time overseas, but returned to the UK in March 2010, when it was re-registered with the DVLA.
The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 28 October 2013 at an indicated 13, 880 miles, resulting in a clean, fist-time pass. This vehicle is now exempt from mandatory MOT testing due to its age.
In June 2025 at 15, 205 miles the clutch cover assembly, rocker cover gasket and battery were replaced along with a full change of engine oil.
The previous owner undertook a major mechanical restoration of the running gear in April 2020 at the hands of Classic and Sports Car Essex, which consisted of a complete subframe restoration, fitting new front and rear suspension, shock absorbers, poly bush rubbers, door rubbers, a new rocker cover gasket and a new dual fuel tanks.
In addition, a routine service was undertaken, including the usual engine oil and filter change, in September 2020 at an indicated 15, 013 miles, by Classic and Sports Cars Essex.
Prior to this, in February 2013, the car was stripped down and cleaned, with new fuel hoses and an in-line fuel filter fitted. This Mini Cooper S is finished in Island Blue, with Snowberry White roundels and a matching roof, while the cabin is trimmed in black vinyl, and features a three-spoke steering wheel.
It rides on a set of 10-inch Minilite-style wheels finished in black with silver lips, fitted with Falken FK-07E tyres.
The car will be supplied with its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, an engine specification book, various 1970s tax discs and MOT test documents, and a large history file of invoices and work completed.
One ignition key will be supplied.
Condition notes: early signs of very minor corrosion on the offside rear wing; a small dent on the roof; light creasing on the vinyl; a small tear can be seen on the rear seat; the dashboard surround has some surface wear in places; the three-spoke steering wheel also presents with some minor cracking and discolouration.
The car has been dry stored since 2021 covering just a small amount of mileage for regular running checks.
