For sale is my Classic Rover Mini Rio.
A rare special edition that was made in 1993 only, the Rio came with unique Black/ Green Spira seats and door and quarter trims, 1275 cc engine, internal bonnet release and ‘Rio’ side and rear decals.
There were only 750 of these made in three colours.
Mine is a Pearlescent Caribbean Blue version.
I have owned the car for just over two years and have had the following done in my ownership;
New complete Heritage boot floor fitted.
New complete Heritage heel board fitted.
New Heritage lower rear panel fitted.
New Heritage rear valance fitted.
Four new dampers.
Completely refurbished the rear subframe and everything attached to it with new or refurbished parts.
New lcb manifold and exhaust.
New inlet manifold.
New coil and HT leads.
New clutch master cylinder.
New clutch slave cylinder.
New brake master cylinder.
New headlamps.
New radiator.
All new brake and fuel lines fitted underneath.
New alloy wheels and tyres. Still in great condition and no kerbing. Nankang tyres fitted all around, with lots of tread left.
Lots of receipts included.
I have all the previous MOT certificates back to 2009.
MOT’d until 09/ 06/ 2026.
The interior is in great condition, no rips or tears to any seats. It is completely original.
It still has the original Rover stereo which works.
The exterior is in very good condition. It was resprayed in 2009, and still looks really good. It is not a concours show car, the body does have some chips and blemishes here and there, but is a very solid car. With the recent panels replaced above, it is very solid and rust free.
The only bit of bubbling paint I can see is a bit around the front screen. Please see photos.
I have added a few shiny bits of trim to the outside, such as wing mirrors, rear boot light and petrol cap, but these are just bolt on, and can be returned back to standard very easily, I still have the original parts. I also still have the original steel wheels and wheel trims if wanted too.
