Decent condition Toyota MR2, low mileage with partial service history. I have owned this car for over two years and it’s time to let it go, since I no longer have the room. This car comes with black leather interior, and is painted in Purplish Blue Mica (8K9). It’s a lovely car to drive.
The car had its cam belt changed around 48, 000 miles in 2022, and has a full MOT with no advisories until 17 July 2026. The car has recent rear tyres and is solid underneath. (12-11-25: added underside photos, noting the front under tray needs to be put back on!)
Unfortunately the original fob for this car was lost, the car has the TVSS system and still works fine with the main key, however the security light does flash. I do have a space/ replacement fob, but I have been unable to pair this with the car.
The alternator on the car was changed in early 2024, however, recently it has become a little noisy (whiny, I assume this is the alternator). The engine had a stuck valve cover bolt which snapped, this was repaired by Triple Customs who welded the area and retapped the hole - the valve cover was powder coated in champagne gold during the time it was off. The car once had individual throttle bodies as a project, but only drove about 10-15 miles before they were removed - the ECU was never tuned or changed. An AFR gauge was fitted, but has since been removed. The engine has had some reconditioned parts, namely the lower ACIS manifold and an engine plaque (2000 TWIN CAM).
The interior in the car is in good condition, it has the original radio, and benefits from a rare steering wheel (Tom’s Racing x Personal), and “man in dandism” floor mats which were an option on the Japanese G-Limited models. The radio antenna does go up, but does not automatically go down - if you give it a tap on the top it will go down when the motor is going.
The paint work on the car is average, there are some chips, peeling, scratches and a couple of small dents. The wheels are original diamond cut but do suffer from some worming, but no curbing. There is a small t-bar leak as these cars are known for, but I will aim to mend this prior to sale.
Please message me with any questions. This car is stock, however comes with a very rare Tom’s Racing Personal steering wheel, original provided too. The car has a Mongoose stainless exhaust which was bought new in 2023 - it sounds great and makes a nice burble sound!
The car comes with the original t-bar window bags which are somewhat rare, as the often get lost. In addition, the main speakers were upgraded and sound a lot better than the factory speakers.
The oil has been changed on this car yearly, including during its time at Triple Customs, but I will change the oil and provide a new filter prior to sale.
It’s a great car in a great colour, but we’ve just bought a shared car and now don’t have the space.
