MX5 MK1 Eunos, very rare 1. 8 V-Special edition in Chaste White with MOT till October 2026. Low mileage of just 80k. Stunning example, this car was imported by the well-regarded Goodwood Sports Cars in 2017, very late compared to many early Eunos imports. It was treated to a full professional respray by the buyer; a fellow owners club member and then professionally undersealed. I can’t stress how clean the paintwork and underside of the car is, this is one of the best examples of a MK1 you will find. The routine of the owner was to take the car out of the garage, drive it, then polish it and return it to the garage. The car was serviced at the end of every good weather season and then stored on a trickle charger for the good weather to return.
Come with nice addition of Mohair tan soft top with heated window in excellent condition, professionally installed Clifford alarm with remote central locking (two fobs and keys + code in paperwork). Being the later and more desirable 1. 8 V-Special it comes with full wooden Nardi trim in mint condition. Tan leather interior, with only a slight bit of wear on the drivers seat but still very presentable. Alloys are mint with excellent tyres all round. Condition as you can see is amazing, the paintwork has a deep shine you don’t usually see on old white MX5 MK1’s. Original spot welds on arches, sills are super clean and tidy, no rust issues to worry about. Due to being a late import, it hasn’t suffered from the UK weather and salted roads, underneath as you can see in pictures while on a lift is about the cleanest MX5 out there. No dents or dings on the car at all.
I’m an owners club member and had the opportunity to purchase this from a fellow member who was now too old to get in and out of the car easily. It has been absolutely cherished with a folder of all paperwork and servicing since coming to the UK. Was purchased in 2017 for over £5000 due to being such a rare and nice example – receipt in paperwork. Previous owner joked how there must be many protective wax layers on the paint due to the number of times he polished the car! Only selling as I have too many cars and now need the space for renovation works since moving house.
The drive on the car is excellent, lots of power from the engine which revs freely, no nocks over bumps and corners well with lots of grip. Being the 1. 8 it benefits from the increased bhp you don’t get on the 1. 6 V-special.
Despite being in the owner’s club and an MX5 enthusiast I don’t recall ever seeing another white 1. 8 V-special with the tan interior, I can’t stress how rare this edition and colour combination is. Even struggled to find pics of other similar cars on google search!
Overall a stunning and loved example of an MX5 MK1 – probably in the top few percent of clean cars out there. Only minor cosmetic gripe is a hairline crack on the top of dash on passenger side – barely noticeable and has no impact on anything. I am certain the first person to view and drive the car will happily purchase it. If it was the start of summer, I would be asking a lot more for the car.
