Just completed a shake-down test at Snetterton a couple of weeks ago and performed faultlessly, handled beautifully and sounded great (see video).
This being a 1982 car is eligible for the high profile Classic Touring Car Championship and also the Gerry Marshall Trophy. Of course there are many other club and Ford championships it would be eligible for too.
Although being sold strictly on an ‘AS IS’ basis and PURELY as a race car only with no warranties or road worthiness it does have a current V5 registration in my name (old road dash shows 68, 000 miles) and is classed as a historic vehicle hence MOT and tax exempt so could be driven to track days, test days etc subject to it meeting road regs.

The car was re-shelled with a good condition one, had further welding re-enforcement and had a complete re-paint a few years ago, as it’s been garage kept since and just used for racing with constant maintenance it’s in great condition for the age underneath too. Bear in mind it’s a race car so the paint is good enough for presentable race standard but it’s not a show car or road standard finish by any means and bear in mind it is a 40 year old classic race car!
A very affordable route into some top level historic motorsport events, sounds fantastic, drives really well and has such a great retro period look. It gets lots of attention wherever it goes.
It has been entered in CTCRC mainly as an RS1600i and occasionally XR3 (shows XR3 on v5) and has achieved numerous trophies including winning a Classic Touring Car class championship with a well respected driver.
