An outstanding fully restored Mk1 Mexico in Stardust silver with black stripes.
HISTORY
Purchased in 2020 by SAC of Coventry a car restoration and prototyping firm and restored inside and out for the owner of the company. The restoration of the car was documented in Retro Ford magazine over five issues and was completed with no expense spared and to the new owners own specification. Finished in late 2024 and only driven 50 miles so is still in as-restored condition. The engine was sent to Harris Performance and rebuilt and modified as listed below.
SPECIFICATION
Stardust silver with black Mexico stripes, JWB RS4 13 inch alloy wheels, 1600cc Crossflow engine rebuilt by Harris Performance to produce 110-120bhp, with oversize 1300 STD-type pistons, a reground crank, HD main and big end bearings and a HPE-spec fast road camshaft, lightened flywheel with balanced cylinder head, ported and equipped with double valve springs and a steel rocker shaft, electronic ignition, electric fuel pump, two 40mm Weber DCOEs, four-branch tubular exhaust manifold, modified wiring loom, 4-speed close-ratio three-rail 2000E gearbox, new clutch and thrust bearing, new subframe, upgraded four-pot brakes with ventilated discs, upgraded spax dampers.
CONDITION
In incredible condition throughout, with no dents or scratches, the alloys are unmarked with new Yokohama tyres, the interior is excellent with no rips, tears or marks on the seats. The headlamps are crystal clear. The engine bay is immaculate as is the boot area. Under the car is as clean as the top, in perfect condition. The car has had a full, clear Motor Check and we have a folder of invoices. The car is MOT and tax exempt.
