Description
A very original 1937 Rover P2 12hp saloon . The grey paintwork has a lovely patina acquired over its 88 years of use. The dark blue leather upholstery is again nicely patinated and very original and complimented by matching blue carpets. All the door cards are good and the headlining is excellent . The dashboard and wooden door cappings are all nicely original and all the instruments work except the clock. It has an opening windscreen and there is a privacy blind that covers the rear window and is operated by a sliding lever above the driver's door. The engine starts first time and runs really well with good oil pressure and the 4 speed gearbox is equally as good. The car drives nicely and the brakes and steering work as they should. The black wire wheels compliment the grey paintwork and all the tyres are good including the spare which is housed inside the boot lid.
The car is not mint, but is very tidy and presentable and quite a rare survivor of a quality prewar marque and is much nicer than the usual Austins and Morris's of the period. It can seat 4 people in comfort with a large boot for luggage and is ready to be driven away and enjoyed.
There have been a huge amount of views and watchers on this listing so I have now reduced the price as it needs a new home. This is a rare survivor, a nice example of a quality 1930s car in good usable condition. Ideal for car shows or taking your friends to the Goodwood Revival. Easy to run and maintain and small enough to fit in any garage
