Description

A specialist in sports and collectible vehicles in Lyon offers for sale a Porsche 911 2. 4 TE:

Presented in 1964, the Porsche 911 (type 901) quickly established itself as a benchmark among sportscars, evolving over the years with technical improvements and progressively increasing power. In 1969, displacement rose from 2. 0 to 2. 2 litres, then in 1972 to 2. 4 litres, giving rise to the T, E and S versions. The 911 2. 4 TE develops 140 hp with fuel injection. This 1972 model year is also notable for the unique “oil hatch”, a detail quickly abandoned the following year.

As the identification documents provided by Porsche attest, this 2. 4 TE was delivered new in Italy on 26 October 1972, and is thus one of the few European injected original versions. It is equipped here with the 911/ 57 (injected) engine and stands out for a full restoration covering the mechanics, running gear, chassis, bodywork and interior. Matching colours, it wears its original Aubergine shade (code 4040), perfectly matched to its perforated beige leather interior.

Owned by its previous owner since 1992 and then acquired in 2016, our 911 has undergone a meticulous restoration, started at the time of purchase. It benefited from a mechanical and electrical overhaul carried out by a recognised specialist in this model: the engine was completely rebuilt and optimised with reboring of cylinders, high-compression pistons, a special valve-spring kit, camshaft, etc. The Bosch mechanical fuel injection pump type 013 from the 911 2. 4 S has been perfectly tuned to the car, giving it torque and a more sporting edge.

The same specialist carried out precision work on the front and rear suspension: everything was rebuilt, as was the braking system (front and rear) with the installation of calipers, pads and ventilated discs from the 911 2. 4 S. It also features a 5-speed manual transmission type 915 which has been completely overhauled.

The bodywork, leather interior and wheels have also been fully restored. To preserve the model’s authenticity, the owner opted for genuine Porsche parts for the finishing details, such as the dashboard cap as well as the body components. The extensive file of documents and invoices reveals a total of nearly €100, 000 invested in restoring this 911.

The car has travelled nearly 3, 000 km since the refurbishment.

A service was carried out very recently by a Porsche specialist. No costs are expected.

We have a photo dossier of the restoration and a presentation video of the car.
