Description
A rare opportunity to own one of the most delightful and rare models of the Austin Seven with a fabric body. A 1930 Austin Seven Mulliner Sports. In the early part of 1930 this particular Mulliner Sports left the famous Austin factory at Longbridge as a rolling chassis and made its short journey to Mulliners of Bordesley Green, also of Birmingham where it was to be fitted with its coachbuilt body before heading South to Hereford where it was first registered and still retains its original registration.
Little is known of its early life until it found its way to the previous owner who had since the late 1950s/ 60's. I was lucky enough to be picked to be the new owner around 18 years ago and since then considerable research has been done on Mulliner Sports' to ensure we got things correct when restoring her. The original chassis was fully restored, along with both axles. The wheels were rebuilt with new rims and spokes using the original hubs and the original engine was fully rebuilt but has not been run in. The previous owners husband had started restoration of the bodywork having stripped the car fully. A lot of Sevens with 'tails' have lost them over the years and have required to be put back when restored, this example is possibly the only Mulliner Sports with its original tail intact.
