Description
Aluminium main body shell built onto a modified original floor and bulkhead. The car has been in this form for many years and is in very good overall condition with a nice patina. A good quality hood and hood bag are fitted, though it must be said that I have never used this in anger as it only goes out in dry weather. The bulkhead has been discretely widened to allow more foot room for the driver. I’m 5’ 11” tall with size 11 feet and I can fit in.
Over the past 5 years the car has had a major engine refresh including a Pheonix crankshaft and new big end and main bearings, new Paul Bonewell camshaft, inlet valves increased to 29mm with double valve springs, full exhaust and manifold system, high volume oil pump with a deep finned alloy sump. The high compression head has had a light skim and runs with a rebuilt SU carburettor and a Bosch type distributor. A close ratio synchro gearbox has been fitted and the diff and rear wheel bearings rebuilt. Brakes have been relined and with new cables and cams fitted. The electrics are 12v and the car has largely been rewired using braided cable. Flashing indicators are fitted for safety. The car sits on a set of 19inch wheels, fully rebuilt with new rims and spokes plus a set of new Blockley tyres.
