Description
The car has had 2 owners and was used for many years from new to voyage to Italy, before being taken on by the current owner. It was in need of some refurbishment. The gearbox is upgraded to a four gear model giving better mileage, the ignition is changed to a standard type and the carburettor is newly rebuilt. The car has recently had a bare metal repaint in the original Cirrus White and all stuctural elements below and above are correct.
The car comes with both the drop down hood and a hard top to cover all eventualities. Designed by Zagato car has an unique appearance and is multi use for good and indifferent weather. With no lack of go and plenty of stopping power it can be both sedate and in a hurry. the 412 it is different in that it is a Targa-type convertible with a removable roof that can be placed in the very large boot.
The 412 is very unusual for a post-World War II car in that the body was made by Zagato in Italy and attached to a chassis built by Bristol Cars in Filton, England. The second series of 412, which this is has the same 5. 9 L high performance, 225 hp and 280 lb⋅ft torque version of the Chrysler LA petrol engine, designated E58, as that used in the Bristol 603 and later in its successor, the Bristol Britannia.
