Description
This 2005 Bristol Fighter is presented in Deep Red bodywork, a colour that suits the car’s distinctive proportions and understated but purposeful design. The Fighter remains one of the most individual British performance cars of the modern era, and even today its presence is unmistakable.
Bristol Fighters rarely come to the market. As an officially licensed Bristol Heritage sales specialist, we have handled only two examples offered publicly over the past fourteen years, including this car.
This example is notable for being the only factory-produced automatic Bristol Fighter. The model was constructed around an aluminium and carbon-fibre composite structure, providing a strong and lightweight platform. Power comes from the 8. 0-litre Chrysler V10 engine producing 525 bhp, mounted well back from the front axle to improve balance and weight distribution.
The interior is trimmed in black leather throughout, including the seats, door cards and dashboard surround, with black carpeting to the footwells and rear hatch area. The cabin has a distinctly aviation-inspired feel, with clear instrumentation, roof-mounted switches and the Fighter’s characteristic gullwing doors. Despite its performance focus, the car is well equipped, featuring air conditioning and a high-quality audio system, making it suitable for both short drives and longer journeys.
This example was first registered in September 2005 and has had just two owners from new, the current owner having acquired the car in 2010. The car was previously sold by us in July 2018 and has since been carefully maintained. It has recently passed its MOT with a clean first-time result and now shows a mileage of 5, 468.
A rare opportunity to acquire a well-kept and correctly specified Bristol Fighter, and a particularly unusual example due to its factory automatic transmission.
