The Riley RM's all have the classic Riley engine with its twin cams mounted high in the cylinder block together with the hemispherical combustion chamber giving plenty of power and stump pulling torque and a 4 speed floor change gearbox with syncromesh on 2nd 3rd and top
This car well known in Riley RM Club circles was completely rebuilt in the 1980's The man who rebuilt the car compiled a huge history file down to the last 50p spent
Sadly he died in 2008 and the car was sold on to 2 other club members who both did work on the car before i bought the car 2 years ago
Recent work on the car including a new electric fuel pump converting the car to negative earth and fitting an alternator together with 2 new RM Club uprated half shafts and hub bearings
Mechanically the car is in good order. The woodwork and interior is first class , the paintwork could do with a freshen up in places. I bought KUY 121 Because I learned to drive in a Riley RME that i was given when I was 16 years old I ran the car for 2 years before selling in on ( it is still on the road owned by another RM Club member) years passed and I missed the joy of driving a RM so when KUY121 came available for sale I had no hesitation about buying it. Being a 2 and a half litre car the car keeps up with modern traffic and you always get waves and headlamp flashed when out on the road and when you park people are also keen to look and talk about the old car days I also have a 1952 RMF which the new owner can have for free none runner only good for spares would need trailered away (most parts interchangeable)
