1969 Lotus Europa S2 – 42, 000 miles – £13, 500
Very original Lotus Europa S2, showing 42, 000 miles and forming part of a collection now being downsized. The car is used sparingly, covering approximately 200 miles per year for shows.
The paintwork has age-related marks, fading, and blemishes, giving the car a fantastic period look with genuine original patina. The car is largely original. The engine starts on the button, drives straight, and the chassis is rust-free (fibreglass body).
Painted gold in 1976. At the same time, Mk1 Capri vents were fitted, with supporting receipts and period correspondence to the DVLA included in the history file.
The car sits on original period Wolfrace slot wheels and was previously featured in a company newsletter.
Recommissioned following long-term storage and sold by Stock Sports Cars in 2018, including brakes, clutch, fluids, carb, electrics and suspension bushes. Since then, the following work has been carried out: new tyres, gearbox seals, exhaust, oil and filter service, new radiator and fan, and a new aluminium fuel tank.
Steering and handling are extremely sharp, just as these cars are known for. This is a 1969 classic that is very easy to work on, with parts readily available from Classic Team Lotus, SJS Sports Cars, and other specialists. It has never let me down and always attracts attention on the road and at shows.
Comfortable original interior with a nicely worn-in feel; snug but comfortable (I am 6 ft tall). Large history file included with receipts, handbooks, and letters from the original owner.
I will put the car through an MOT prior to sale (although it is MOT-exempt). Tax-exempt and inexpensive classic insurance.
