The car retains its original Wedgwood Blue exterior and Shadow Blue interior colour scheme. Interior re-trimmed from John Skinner (the John Skinner website still uses images of this car on its website). Over £15k invested in making this car great to drive and live with, whilst retaining a genuine TR5 ‘survivor’ feel with original steering wheel, seats, gear knob, vinyl door caps etc.
Working primarily with Triumph TR5 specialists Revington TR, the car benefits from the following upgrades:
• Fosseway four pot calliper with ventilated front discs. New brake master & brake servo. New rear drum & shoes
• Bosch fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure relief valve, upgraded fuel metering unit and new fuel injectors. Revington TR rolling road tuned to run on super unleaded (without need for lead replacement / octane additives)
• UK manufactured UV joints, prop and drive shafts. Rebuilt rear differential and rear suspension
• Revington TR chassis front strengthening kit, new front uprights, hub and wheel bearings. Re-bush suspension with uprated SuperPro poly bushes all round and uprated adjustable shocks
• Hi-torque starter motor
• Upgraded steering column with metal uv joints (instead of rubber joints)
• Rebuilt overdrive with new solenoid
• Safety bonnet catch under dash (just in case notorious bonnet cable fails)
• New Wire Wheels allowing use of tubeless tyres
• Period looking DAB radio with bluetooth phone connectivity. Battery trickle charging point fitted under dash, double USB charging point. New battery
• Upgraded heater to modern high efficiency unit by Clayton Classics (upgraded matrix and stronger fan inside standard heater box and via original switches. Silicon upgraded coolant hoses with waterless coolant.
